What is it?

Originally used when planning large, complex projects with interdependent activities and a timescale. Used to identify the action sequence required to achieve your goal

How to use it?

• Draw a horizontal line and mark your goal with a date for completion at the extreme right.
• Working backwards, consider what needs to be done before that date to reach the goal, and write it on the line.
• Plot key actions, achievement and dates on the line.
• Keep working back wards until you reach todays date.
• Use pictures, images and visualisations wherever possible
• Think about how you can remove obstacles, clarify alternative paths and where you could build/gather resources, or get support to facilitate goal achievement
